On the side of each tire there is a lot of information that allows us to know it better and to understand all the components that characterize it. In fact, on the shoulder of each tire there are multiple data such as width, diameter, load index, etc ...
It is essential to know this information to complete the online purchase.
Let's see together where and how this information is reported.
SIZE
The first numbers that are shown on the side represent the size of the tire and explain its width, profile and diameter.
Remember that it is not possible to fit on your car tire sizes not indicated in the booklet.
LOAD AND SPEED INDEX
Continuing on the side of the tire, after the size, two numbers and a letter are indicated which respectively represent the load and speed index.
You will see in your booklet that this information is shown for each approved tire size.
The load index must always be equal to or higher than that shown in the booklet (example 98 or higher)
The speed index must be equal or higher if summer tires are fitted (example H or higher). From October 15 to May 15 it is allowed by the highway code to also equip winter tires with a lower index which must not be lower than the letter Q (160 Km/h).
